Martin and Rachel Murray run Berida, a working cattle property in the Bendemeer district of northern NSW, where they’re building a productive Angus breeding herd and enjoying the rhythms (and realities) of life on the land.
Martin’s background combines hands-on farming with professional agronomy. He has worked as an agronomist in independent retail and on-farm research-focused roles. Martin's life extends off farm into ag policy driven by a desire to help strengthen the future of farming for the next generation. He’s been involved with NSW Farmers since 2015 along with the NFF, WFO and has attended the GFFA in Berlin bringing a paddock-level perspective to the global conversation.
Rachel works alongside Martin in the business and day-to-day life of the property, with a strong focus on doing the basics well: livestock care, practical systems, and creating a warm, genuine welcome for visitors as Berida expands its farm-stay and outdoor experience offerings. Together, Martin and Rachel have continued building their operation with a focus on progress that’s practical, sustainable, and grounded in real-world farming.
